Chiropractic and the
“chiropractic lifestyle” are about promoting
healthy and balanced systems in the body, to
move each person towards optimal health.
As this occurs, pain and
other unwanted symptoms tend to diminish and
disappear.
Chiropractic does not treat
pain directly, but instead aims to correct
and dispel imbalance, poor function, and
stress in the body, thereby removing the
cause of pain.
Of course, when you are
suffering from pain or other unpleasant
symptoms, our primary mission is to help you
experience relief as rapidly as possible.
AND the vision and purpose of our
chiropractic efforts is to help you move
toward a state of balance and proper
function in their body, so that you will
leave pain and other symptoms behind and
experience the fulfillment of excellent and
lasting health.
Chiropractic adjustments
perform a unique function in releasing
restrictions or “stuck” joints in the spine
that cause stress and irritation to the
nervous system. This promotes improved
function of every system in the body,
including the brain. Chiropractic
adjustments are the only treatment that
restores good spinal function and relieves
that disturbance in the nervous system
caused by “subluxations” (stuck spinal
joints). Normal spinal motion is a
prerequisite for normal brain and nerve
system function.
However, since chiropractic is about
promoting and manifesting healthy and
balanced systems in the body, more than just
chiropractic adjustments are needed to help
you achieve optimum health. What is needed
is the “chiropractic lifestyle,”
which includes chiropractic treatment
plus good nutrition, good posture,
appropriate exercise, adequate rest, daily
methods to release stress and tension, and
emotional support through loving
relationships with family and friends.
Obviously, it may be difficult, for many
reasons beyond our control, to consistently
follow all the important aspects of the
chiropractic lifestyle. Chiropractic
adjustments can, to some degree, compensate
for our imperfections because they release
the spinal and neurological stress caused by
past traumas and by past and present
physical, chemical, and emotional life
stresses. The chiropractic lifestyle is an
ongoing “work in progress,” and the more we
can fully integrate the chiropractic
lifestyle into our daily life, the more we
will experience its full benefits.
Chiropractic adjustments are
a vital component, but only one component,
of the chiropractic lifestyle, which in its
totality leads toward good and lasting
health.
